Microsoft's Remote Desktop Connection (RDC) application gives your Windows computer
the ability to display and interact with your Right Networks Hosted desktop, Hosted Applications (Such as QuickBooks Hosting, and Peachtree Hosting), and data in the cloud.
Connecting
To connect to Right Networks using Microsoft's Remote Desktop Connection
application, click here, then click "Open",
etc. Depending on the version or the Remote Desktop Connection software, you may
be prompted to click "Connect" or enter a username and password.
To save a shortcut to Right Networks, click
here, then "Save". You can then connect to Right Networks by opening the shortcut
that you have saved.
Before printing, please review the printing instructions,
below.
Uploading and Downloading Files
To connect to Right Networks so that you can upload or download files, click
here, then click "Open", and then
click "Connect". Once you are connected, your local computer's disk drives will
be available under "My Computer" on the remote desktop and you can upload or download
files by copying-and-pasting between the local and remote drives. In addition when
you are connected in this way, you can switch between the local and remote desktops,
as described below, and copy between the local and remote desktops.
If you are not uploading or downloading files, make sure to use one of the
links in the Connecting section, above, otherwise for
best performance.
Printing
Before you can print from Microsoft's Remote Desktop Connection application on a
given computer, you will need to install a special printer driver as follows:
- Disconnect from Right Networks if you are connected.
- Download and install the printer drivers for Windows here,
then click "Run", and complete the installation process.
- Once the printer driver installation process is complete, connect to Right Networks as described above.
Switching Between Your Remote and Local Desktop
If you need to access your local desktop while you are connected to Right Networks,
you can click the "Minimize" or "Restore Down" icons at the top of the remote desktop
window. These icons look like an underline and a pair of overlapping boxes, respectively.
To maximize the remote desktop window again, click the "asp.rightnetworks.com" item
in your local taskbar if you clicked "Minimize" above, or the "Maximize" icon at
the top right of the remote desktop window if you clicked "Restore Down" above.
