Below are instructions for emailing attachments out of QuickBooks Desktop. You can also download these instructions as a PDF here.

Note: The ability to email attachments is only available in QuickBooks 2014 and up (All Flavors & Versions Pro/Premier/Enterprise).

There are two options for emailing QuickBooks Transactions (Invoices, Purchase Orders, etc.):

  • Webmail
  • Outlook

There are also sttachment Size Limits:

  • Webmail: 2 MB
  • Outlook: 25 MB QuickBooks Email Subscription users are not able to email with attachments

This is a limit of using QuickBooks’ Email Subscription service. Therefore, this option will be grayed out as shown below:

Emailing Attachments from QuickBooks

A transaction must have an attachment already attached to it in order for the option to Email > Invoice and Attached Files to not be grayed out.
